Wine from Podkarpacie is a unique product with a unique character. The history of Podkarpackie winemaking dates back to the Middle Ages. The first vineyards were established here in the 11th and 12th century at Benedictine and Cistercian monasteries. Wine was produced by the monks, producing wine for liturgical purposes, and with time it began to be used on a daily basis.
